St. Michael's School, Bow Island, Launching Playschool+ Program for 2025/2026 School Year

BIG Little Things are coming to St. Michael's!

St. Michael’s School in Bow Island is thrilled to announce the launch of Playschool+, an exciting new early learning program beginning in September 2025. Created in partnership with the Holy Spirit Catholic School Division and the existing community playschool association, Playschool+ is designed to support families with young children while fostering a love of learning from the very beginning.

This innovative program was born out of a shared commitment to address an ongoing challenge: how to provide consistent, high-quality early childhood education to Bow Island’s three- and four-year-olds. Playschool+ offers a caring, structured environment for young learners, helping them prepare for kindergarten and beyond.

Based on the philosophy of junior kindergarten, Playschool+ provides social-emotional, play-based learning in a literacy and numeracy rich environment. What sets this program apart is the “+”—students will join the existing kindergarten class during appropriate parts of the day, benefiting from peer role modeling and collaboration with experienced educators.

Programming Details

• Three-year-olds will attend mornings only on Tuesdays and Thursdays ($75/month)
• Four-year-olds will attend full days on Tuesdays and Thursdays ($150/month)
• Kindergarteners (five-year-olds) will continue with full days Tuesdays and Thursdays, with Wednesdays added later in the year
